Sant shot dead in Hardwar

Hardwar, Nov 13 (UNI) Bal Yogi Swami Niwasacharyaji Maharaj, a leading sant of the city and founder of the Indian temple in Acharya Baal Ashram in Bhopatwala here, was shot dead this morning.

The murder has sent a wave of shock and anger in the sant community of the holy city.

The SSP Abhinav Kumar told UNI that one Satya Prakash Pandey and two of his accomplices have been arrested in the case. Two pistols and 40 cartridges have been recovered from them.

According to police sources the dispute over the ownership of the Ashram seemed to be the motive behind the murder.

The police is also filing a case against a Mahant of Ayodhya who reportedly hired the miscreants to perpetrate the murder.

The SSP has announced a cash reward of Rs 2,500 for the police party which arrested the accused.
