Rupee opens higher at 44.65/66 per USD

Mumbai, Nov 13: The Rupee today opened higher by five paise and was quoted at Rs 44.65/66 against per US Dollar as compared to it's previous close of Rs 44.70/58 per USD, due to lack of Dollar demand by bankers, traders said.

Later, the domestic currency hiked to Rs 44.64/4850 per USD, and is now trading again at a low of Rs 44.8850/8950 per USD on heavy buying support in Dollar by defense importers and also short-covering by local dealers, forex dealers added.
