RJD MP Shahabuddin withdraws petition from court

Patna, Nov 13 (UNI) RJD MP Md Shahabuddin today withdrew his criminal revision filed before the Patna High court for transfering his cases from the special court in Siwan.

While hearing the application, a single bench of the court of justice Navniti Prasad Singh said, ''The special court of V V Gupta, constituted for trial of the criminal cases against Md Shahabuddin, had no bias and the court would not do any injustice to the MP.'' Following the court's observation, Md Shahabuddin withdrew the application.

Through the criminal revision, Md Shahabuddin currently lodged in Siwan jail, had prayed the Patna High Court to transfer the trial of cases from the special court to somewhere else as the concerned judge had been threatened taking his name.

Earlier the Siwan District Judge had rejected the related petition of Md Shahabuddin on October 19 this year after which the MP had filed the criminal revision before the Patna High Court.
