Randhawa breaks into top 100, Jeev moves up to 70th

New Delhi, Nov 13 (UNI) For the first time, the country has two players in the top 100 with Jyoti Randhawa (89th) breaking into the elite league after his tied ninth finish in the HSBC Champions even though compatriot Jeev Milkha Singh, at 70, enjoys his stature as the highest ranked Indian golfer.

According to the latest Official World Golf Rankings issued today, Randhawa, who led the first two rounds in Shanghai before slipping to tied ninth after four rounds, made a 14-rung leap up the ladder from his last week's 103rd position.

Volvo Masters winner Jeev, who finished tied 17th in Shanghai, moved up three places from his last week's 73rd position to inch close towards his target of breaking into the top 50.

Shiv Kapur, who was tied for 18th in HSBC Champions, moved up 12 rungs to finish 196, while seasoned Gaurav Ghei, tied 26th at Shanghai, moved up 19 notches to 207 and is all set to break into the top 200.

Arjun Atwal is the lone Indian on a slide and the Orlando-based Indian lost two more places to finish 251.

Meanwhile, Yang Yong-Eun's Shanghai triumph catapulted the Korean to the 38th place.
