Narlikar, Bhoje to receive Firodia awards

New Delhi, Nov 13 (UNI) Eminent scientists Dr Jayant Narlikar and S B Bhoje will be given the H K Firodia-2006 awards for their outstanding work in the field of science.

Dr Narlikar will receive the award of two lakh rupees for his work in the field of 'Cosmology' (Astronomy and Astrophysics).

Mr S B Bhoje, former Director and distinguished scientist at the Department of Atomic Energy would receive a cash award of one lakh rupees for his contribution to the development of Fast breeder reactors which are at the heart of country's nuclear power programmes.

The awards were announced here today by Mr Arun Firodia, Chairman, Kinetic Group.

The selection committee comprised distinguished scientists including Dr Vasant Gowariker, Dr Anil Kakodkar, Dr Vijay Bhatkar and Dr Govind Swarup.
