MP HC frames charges against Chouhan

Jabalpur, Nov 13 (UNI) The Madhya Pradesh High Court today framed charges against Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on a petition seeking setting aside of his election from Budhni on the charges of alleged violation of poll code and holding offices of profit.

Hearing a petition by defeated Congress candidate Rajkumar Patel, Justice A K Saxena fixed the next date for hearing in the case on November 27.

Petitioner's counsel Manoj Sharma told the court that Mr Chouhan held offices of profit while holding the post of Chief Minister and as such his nomination for the by-election was invalid.

Besides, being on the post of the Chief Minister, Mr Chouhan misused government machinery in order to influence voters during campaigning for the by-poll.
