Mizoram Cab owners alleged misuse of vehicle rules
Aizawl, Nov 13: Mizoram Maxi Cab Owners Association (MMCOA) today accused the state government of misusing the Mizoram Motor Vehicle Rules 1995 by imposing an authorisation fee.
The MMCOA in a statement said the government latest fee for maxi cabs was violating the existing rules.
It claimed the transport department has levied Rs 5000 a year on maxi cabs as authorisation fee, which was a violation of the state's Vehicle Rules.
The MMCOA members have decided to launch agitation against the Champhai district police prohibiting maxi cabs from entering Zokawthar's lower area on the Mizoram-Myanmar border.
