Mithi stresses on infrastructure requirements in Arunachal
Itanagar, Nov 13 (UNI) To develop tourism in Arunachal Pradesh Pondichery Lt. Governor Mukut Mithi has stressed upon the need to create more infrastructure and tourist amenities in the state.
'' People as well as the state government should avail the benefits extended by the Centre for all-round development of the state, '' Mr Mithi told UNI at Tawang near here today.
Pointing out at the immense hydro power potentials of the state, Mr Mithi, who was the state's former chief minister, said more emphasis should be given in this sector for faster development of the state.
'' Though my work place is Pondichery, my heart is very near to the people of Arunachal and whenever I gat opportunities I try to pursue the Centre to give special attention to my state,'' he added.
Stating that proper marketing should be done in the tourism sector for more inflow of tourists, Mr Mithi stressed on proper road connectivity to various tourist circuits and destinations of the state.
Referring to the possibilities of border trade with neighbouring Bhutan, China and Myanmar, he said the trade would not only improve the state's economy but also the entire North East region.
