Man awarded life term for killing wife

Faridabad, Nov 13 (UNI) A local court today handed down life imprisonment to a person who had hacked his wife to death in Sector-15 here.

The victim, Sarla, was married to Alok in 2001.

Sarla was employed with a beauty parlour and her husband doubted her fidelity.

On the basis of this suspicion, he hacked her to death, chopped her body into pieces, put them in a box and locked his rented house and fled, police said.

The landlord later informed the police that a foul smell was emanating from the house.

The police broke open the door and recovered the body.

An FIR was lodged with the Central Police Station against Alok and he was arrested.
