LIC registers 31% growth

Chennai, Nov 13 (UNI) The Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) registered 31 per cent growth in selling new policies last year.

Inagurating a Rs 62,000 platform ticket vending machine at Egmore railway station here today, LIC's South Zonal Manager G Prabhakara said tremendous growth was expected in all aspect this year.

He said the South Zone comprising Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Pondicherry was having 261 fully computerised branches and 10 satellite branches.

He said LIC would launch an Electronic Data Management System (EDMS) shortly, which would enable a policy holder to do business on the company's policies anywhere in the country.

Southern Railway's Divisional Manager Mansingh hailed the efforts of LIC for the benefit of rail passengers.
