KSDL launches herbal care natural soap

Chennai, Nov 13 (UNI) Bangalore-based Karnataka Soaps and Detergents Ltd (KSDL), a leading FMCG marketers of Mysore sandal soap, today launched a new herbal care natural soap, thus making a foray into the herbal segment.

The company also re-launched Mysore Sandal Talc in an attractive package with a new combination of ingredients.

Budding Tamil film actor Kannika launched the products at a glittering function here.

Speaking on the occasion, KSDL Managing Director H V Paraswanath said the new herbal care soap was made with a blend of 19 natural essential oils containing several aromatic and therapeutic properties. It was enriched with skin conditioners, moisturisers, anti-bacterial agents and natural herbal perfumes, he added.

The product was priced at Rs 12 for 100 gm.

Mr Paraswanath said the KSDL, which had been producing sandal-based products, was now focusing on diversification in view of scarcity of sandal in the country.

In a bid to meet the requirement of raw materials, the company launched 'Grow More Sandal project' to encourage farmers to raise sandalwood trees. Under the project, about 20,000 sandalwood saplings had been raised so far and distributed to farmers at a nominal cost, he added.

He said the KSDL had also entered detergent and liquid soap segments as part of its diversification plans.
