Karnataka gains 221 runs first innings lead over Goa
Margao, Nov 13(UNI) K L Rahul( 136,22x4) and Shishir Bhavani (118,17x4)) guided Karantaka to 395 for five declared in reply to host Goa's 174 all out and thus gained a first innings lead of 221 runs on the second day of the three-day South Zone Under 15 Polly Umrigar Trophy here today.
Goa, in their second innings chasing to surpass the target of 221 runs were in dire strait and struggling with 52 for four in 34 overs at the close of the play with Darshal Misal not out 10 and Nadesh Falari (0) were at the crease.
Karnataka resuming at the overnight score of 129 for two with Rahul not out 41 and Shishir Bhabani not out 11, the duo started in an aggresive mood and scored off almost every ball. Rahul reached three figure( 136) with 22 hits to the fence in 151 balls and 213 minutes and Bhavani completed his 118 with 17 fours in 170balls and 214 minutes and declared their first innings on a total score of 395 for 5 in 88 overs adding 266 runs to their overnight score 25 minutes before the tea.
