Independent candidate files papers for Chamundeshwari bypoll

Mysore, Nov 13 (UNI) An independent candidate L Nagaraju filed his nomination papers for the byelection to the Chamundeswari Assembly constituency, scheduled for December four.

Apart from Mr Nagaraju, no one had so far come forward to file the nominations, which opened on November ten and would close on November 17.

Scrutiny of nominations would be taken up on November 18 and the last date for withdrawal of papers was November 20.

Meanwhile, electronic voting machines (EVMs) for the bypoll arrived here today. District Electoral Officer and Deputy Commissioner S Selva Kumar said the polling officials and counting officers would be trained to use EVMs.
