Imran Khan to run 7000 kms in 5 months

Kolkata, Nov 13 (UNI) To promote national harmony and health awareness, Imran Khan is going to run a distance of 7000 kms in only five months from November 14 to March next.

Imran Khan, a physiotherapist by proffession in Howrah district of West Bengal, in a press release here today announced his noble mission.

'' My aim is to help the youth recoup from any physical and mental illness. By doing this only we can prevent crime, terrorism, communalism and nepotism from the society,'' Dr Khan said.

Dr Khan aims to cover 13 states with 64 districts and 368 stopovers where he would meet the people and make them aware of the various osteo-diseases like arthritis, spondylitis and teach them how to solve ones's own problem, the release stated.

Khan started his long distance run on November 14, 1992 from here but was stopped by the Uttar Pradesh government following the tense situation due to Babri Masjid demolition.

However, he again started his run on September 12, 1993 from Bokaro with a target of 20,000 kms and was enrolled in the Guinnes Book Of World Records.
