GoM to decide on more powers to PSEs on Nov 27

New Delhi, Nov 13 (UNI) The Group of Ministers (GoM), which was to meet today to decide on giving more financial and functional autonomy to public sector enterprises (PSEs), will now meet on November 27 to discuss the recommendations of the Group of Experts.

''The meeting has been postponed and is now scheduled for November 27,'' official sources said.

Some of the recommendations of the group of experts that pertained to increasing financial and functional autonomy to navratna, mini-navratna and other profit-making PSEs had already been implemented.

Other recommendations to improve the efficiency of the PSEs were to be considered by the GoM today.

The group of experts was set up under the chairmanship of Dr Arjun Sengupta to advise the government on issues of autonomy, audit, vigilance and accountability of the PSEs.
