Ghadei presents Rs 3654 crores first Supplementary budget for Orissa
Bhubaneswar,Nov 13 (UNI) Orissa Finance Minister P C Ghadei today presented the provision for expenditure of Rs 3654 crores in the first supplementary budget for the state during 2006-2007.
Presenting the statement of expenditure, Mr Ghadei said the provision of the first supplementary would cover the two new schemes -Gopabandhu Gramin Yojana and Biju KBK Plan announced by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.
The Finance Minister said the Gopabandhu Gramin Yojana would be implemented from the current fiscal with an annual outlay of Rs 120 crores in 11 coastal orissa districts while Rs.20 crores would be spent on the Biju KBK plan every year from 2006-2007.
The first supplementary provision, he said would also take into account an additional expenditure of Rs.418.71 crores for relief and restoration work in the flood affected areas.
The state government, he said, had earmarked Rs 330.24 crores for the relief during 2006-2007 but with additional provision, the total amount in the relief and restoration during the year rose to Rs.748.41 crores.
Mr Ghadei said the state government has also decided to provide Rs 35 crores subsidy on the loan taken by the farmers from the Cooperative Banks and made a provision of Rs 231.62 crores to complete all the ongoing projects financed by the NABARD.
This apart, the government, the Finance Minister said had made the provision of Rs 96 crores towards the old age and disability pension, Rs 20 crores for construction of school buildings and hostels for SC/ST students and Rs five crores for deployment of retired army jawans in the naxalite effected areas in the state.
