Former minister leads AIADMK demo against

Chennai, Nov 13 (UNI) Hundreds of AIADMK partymen led by former AIADMK Minister and party's fishermen wing Secretary D Jayakumar staged a slogan shouting demonstration here today, protesting against the ruling DMK government's failure to protect the interest of fishermen in the state.

Speaking on the occassion, Mr Jayakumar criticised the inability of the government to trace the four missing fishermen from Kasimedu area here , who had put out to sea on October 31.

He said only after AIADMK's assistance, the DMK government had announced a solatium of Rs 50,000 to the family of another missing fisherman, whose body was washed ashore near Chennai Port.
