Farooq urges people to guide youth against terrorism
Jammu, Nov 13 (UNI) Calling upon the people of Jammu and Kashmir to fight against anti-national forces, National Conference (NC) patron and former State Chief Minister, Dr Farooq Abdullah has said that terrorism is the biggest challenge before humanity in the 21st century.
Addressing a public rally at the end of his Doda visit last evening, Dr Abdullah, who repeatedly shouted Bharat Mata Ki Jai, cautioned people against evil designs of the enemy.
''Terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir has brought nothing except bloodshed and destruction. There is no place for violence or killing in any civilised society,'' he said, adding that the need of era was to properly guide and educate the younger generation about the menace of terrorism and to save their future. ''Some vested interests have been exploiting religious sentiments of the youths.
The forces which have been spreading hatred and enmity in the state should keep in mind that Jammu and Kashmir is an integral part of India and no one can change this reality,'' he said.
Reiterating his party's stand over greater autonomy, Dr Abdullah said this provision provides the decentralisation of power to the state and it is in the interests of the people of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh.
Criticising People's Democratic Party (PDP) for its self-rule proposal, the NC patron challenged his political rival, Mufti Mohammed Sayeed to come out with concrete written document on his proposal.
