Domestic violence Act against Indian ethos: ex-union minister

Lucknow, Nov 13 (UNI) A senior Samajwadi Party leader in Uttar Pradesh today described the protection of women from Domestic Violence Act as against Indian culture and said it would stop the husbands from putting forth their views in the household.

Talking to reporters here, former Union Minister and National General Secretary of the ruling SP Beni Prasad Verma said the Act was not in tune with Indian culture and would only give rise to domestic tensions.
