DAN responsible for law and order problem: NPCC
Kohima, Nov 13 (UNI) The Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) has alleged that the ruling Democratic Alliance of Nagaland (DAN) was responsible for the state's law and order problem.
In a statement NPCC president Hokheto Sumi said the DAN coalition had failed to keep its promise to solve the Naga problem within three months once voted to power He also criticised the DAN's 'equi-closeness' policy with the outfits due to which it was impossible to stop the frequent factional clashes taking place in populated areas.
He further added that though the people were facing several problems due to the clashes, the DAN government had termed the clashes as a "political problem" and not a law and order problem.
Mr Sumi took a dig at the DAN government's response to the law and order problem by sending rice and money to the affected people.
He also said the irate mob of Zunheboto blocked Home Minister Thenucho's entourage protesting against the government's failure to provide security during the recent clashes there.
He also demanded that Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio should take immediate action on the NSCN factions.
