Canara Bank launches Can Champ scheme

Shimla, Nov 13 (UNI) Canara Bank today announced the launching of new saving scheme ''Can Champ'', which will make account holders eligible for an educational loan after passing their twelfth standard, an official spokesman today said.

Under the scheme, the students would become eligible for an educational loan from any of its branches after opening an account with the bank before turning twelve.

The spokesman said the account could be opened by students up to 12 years and with a minimum amount of Rs 100.

The students would not be allowed to withdraw the amount before completing their twelfth standard and would have to make two credits within a year, he said.

The bank would also give a piggy box, an attractive personal diary and an eligibility card for an educational loan to all people opening an account with the bank under the scheme.
