Building worker brutally murdered

Chennai, Nov 13 (UNI) A 28-year-old building worker was brutally murdered at government maternity hospital here late last night.

According to police the deceased identified as Murugan, hailing from Meyyur village in Villupuram district was staying at his brother's house here and was involved in building works.

The deceased and another person Krishnamoorthy of suburb Karambakkam stayed together, and the deceased was found murdered this morning.

On the information police rushed to the spot and taken the body for post-mortem.

Meanwhile, Krishnamoorthy surrendered before the Egmore police and confessed that he murdered Murugan by attacking with a boulder.

In his confession Krishnamoorthy told police that the deceased and his friend Sundar allegedly attempted to remove one kidney of Krishnamoorthy for some financial arrangements, in which the deceased was supposed to take Krishnamoorthy to Andhra Pradesh, this morning. Fearing over this, he murdered him Krishnamoorthy he added.

Police registered a case and search was on for Sundar who was said to be absconding.
