Babbar terms Mulayam, Mayawati anti-Muslim

Farrukhabad, Nov 13 (UNI) Jan Dal president and cine star Raj Babbar has slammed Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav and BSP supremo Mayawati for being anti-Muslim.

Addressing a public meeting here last night, suspended Samajwadi Party (SP) MP accused the ruling Samajwadi Party in Uttar Pradesh as well as BSP for ''playing'' with the sentiments of Muslims to increase their vote bank.

''While using derogatory language against the Muslims, Mayawati forgot that without the support of minorities, she would have never been able to become the chief minister of UP,'' Mr Babbar said.

He alleged Mr Yadav was behind the unexpected success of the BJP in the local bodies poll as he wanted to create fear in the minds of the Muslims to grab their vote bank in the next assembly polls.

''The SP is the party of 'dalals' (brokers) and only knows how to dance on the tune of big industrialists,'' he claimed.

He further appealed the Muslims to support this Jan Dal in the 2007 assembly polls as the party is the right choice at the moment and if it came to power, it would leave no stone unturned to materialise the recommendations of the Mandal Commission of giving 9 per cent reservation to Muslims.
