ADB sanctions Rs 1,500cr to Uttranchal for power reformation
Dehra Dun, Nov 13 (UNI) Asian Development Bank (ADB) has sanctioned Rs 1,500 crore to the Uttaranchal government for the development of the power sector, Chief Minister N D Tiwari said today.
At the foundation of Rs 191 crore budgeted 400 KV Power sub-station at Ramnagar Road, Kashipur, Mr Tiwari said with the foundation of the sub-station, the state would have its own independent power grid.
''This will enable an uninterrupted power supply to whole of Kumaon region,'' he said, adding that power supply of additional 200 MVA would be ensured by March 2008 that would provide power supply to Pantnagar, Jaspur, and Kashipur industrial areas.
Mr Tiwari apprised that it was the second power station in Kashipur with 400 KV. He said the state government was putting concerted efforts to strengthen the financial condition of the state through power sector.
