8 IAS, 6 IPS officers chargesheeted in Orissa
Bhubaneswar, Nov 13 (UNI) Eight IAS and six IPS officers have been chargesheeted on grounds of corruption by the Orissa vigilance, of whom two IAS officers had been arrested, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik informed the assembly today.
Replying to a question of Congress member Debashish Patnaik, he said while 13 cases were filed against the IAS officers, seven were instituted against the IPS officers.
So far only two IAS officers had been arrested while six IAS and as many IPS officers were yet to be arrested, he added.
To another question of Independent member Mahhamed Ayub Khan, the Chief Minister said 1898 criminal cases had been registered by the vigilance department against 479 class I officers, 459 class II officers, 1335 Class III officers and 22 class IV government employees from April 2000 to September 2006.
