'Pothe Poni' bags AP Govt's 'Golden Nandi' Award

Hyderabad, Nov 12 (UNI)'Pothe Poni', a film on the apathetic attitude of people to the happenings around, bagged the 'Golden Nandi' Award of the Andhra Pradesh Government for the year 2005.

Announcing the awards at the state Film, Telivision and Theatre Development Corporation Office here, producer-cum-director P Doondeswara Rao, the head of the huty, said 'Anukokunda Oka Roju', an off-beat film was adjudged second.

Producer V Y Praveen Kumar would be honoured with 'Golden Nandi', cash prize of Rs 50,000 and a commendation certificate and director Thammareddy Bharadwaja, hero Siva Balaji and heroine Sindhu Tulani would receive 'Copper Nandi' and Commendation certificates.

Film producer Ganga Raju Gunnam would receive 'Silver Nandi', cash prize Rs 20,000 and commendation certificate while Director Chandrasekhar Yelleti, hero Shashank and heroine Charmi would receive 'Copper Nandi' and commendation certificates.

'Goutham SSC' was adjudged the third best feature film and its producer Y Soniya Reddy would be awarded 'Bronze Nandi', cash prize of Rs 10,000 and a commendation certificate.

'Copper Nandi' and commendation certificates would go to director P A Arun Prasad, hero Navadeep and heroine Sindhu.

'Nuvvosthanante Nenoddantaana' was adjudged the Best Home Viewing Feature Film. Producer M S Raju would get 'Silver Nandi', Akkineni Nageswara Rao Gold Medal, cash prize of Rs 20,000 and a commendation certificate.

'Pellam Pichodu' was adjudged the Best Popular Feature Film providing wholesome entertainment. Producer Rampalli Rama Bhadra Shastry would receive 'Silver Nandi', a cash prize of Rs 20,000 and a commendation certificate.
