Mann rules out poll alliances for assembly elections

Moga, Nov 12 (UNI) Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) president Simranjit Singh Mann today ruled out pre-poll electoral alliances with any political party for the assembly elections due in February next year.

Mr Mann made this announcement after receiving the Baba Banda Bahadur Gold Medal Award at a special 'Sarman Samaroh' function organsied in Burj Duna village near Baghapurana today.

The award has been instituted by the NRIs of the area.

Mr Mann stated that his party would contest all the 117 assembly seats in Punjab.

Mr Mann was honoured in recognition of his contribution towards the welfare and betterment of the Sikhs and for raising his voice against the 'injustice' meted out to the Sikh community.
