Introduce ICC, FWS for farmers: Cong leader

Vijayawada, Nov 12 (UNI) Former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and senior Congress leader Nadendla Bhaskara Rao today urged the Centre and the state governments to introudce 'Insured Credit Card'(ICC) and 'Farmers Welfare Scheme' (FWS) to save the peasants from calamity.

Addressing a press conference here, Mr Rao recalled that when he was a minister in the Anjaiah cabinet in Andhra Pradesh, he had introduced the 'Crop Insurance scheme' for the benefit of farmers but the scheme failed as it was not porperly implemented.

He urged both the Central and the state governments to introduce ICC as well FWS to help the farmers.
