Gang of robbers busted, 4 arrested

Hoshiarpur, Nov 12 (UNI) The district police has unearthed a gang of dacoits and traced a two-year-old theft case of 100 gunny bags of wheat from the godown of the Punjab Warehouse Corporation, with the arrest of four of its members.

The arrested members of the gang were identified as Darshan Singh and his brother Jagtar Singh, Asha alias Ashu and Krishan Ram, SSP R N Dhoke yesterday said.

Darshan Singh and his brother Jagtar Singh were the ring leaders of the gang and hailed from Tanda.

About 40 cases of robberies and burglaries had been registered in various police stations against them. The duo, in the age group of 55-60, had their own pick-up vans to carry the looted material from different places.
