Chalk ban in Hindi schools
Aizawl Nov 12 (UNI) The "chalk and talk" method of teaching were banned by the Universal Hindi Communications Centre (UHCC), which has issued an order to all Hindi-medium schools affiliated to it from next year on health grounds.
The order said since chalk-dust is known to be detrimental to health, it had been decided that all Hindi schools affiliated to the UHCC would not use chalk and blackboards from the New Year.
The school authorities have also been asked to distribute uniforms bearing UHCC insignia free of cost and white boards and markers would be used from next year, the order stated.
UHCC had also informed that initiatives had been taken under the aegis of the Akhil Bharatiya Hindi Sanstha Sang (All-India Federation of Hindi Organisations) for introduction of Hindi matriculation, PUC and BA.
