Andes Petroleum restarts operations in Ecuador

QUITO, Ecuador, Nov 11 (Reuters) Chinese consortium Andes Petroleum restarted operations in the Ecuadorean Amazon today after reaching a deal with local residents who invaded its installation to demand jobs, a company spokesman said.

The consortium, which is led by PetroChina Co., said production at its Tarapoa oil block was slashed to 14,000 barrels per day from 42,000 bpd after protests started on Thursday night.
