32 people including 29 bar dancers arrested

Mumbai, Nov 12 (UNI) Thirty-two people, including 29 bar dancers and the manager were arrested in a raid at a dance bar in Chembur, north east Mumbai late last night.

According to police sources, 'Tarana' bar was raided at 0100 hrs.

The manager of the bar Srikant Shetty along with 29 bar girls were arrested in the raid by the police.

The owners of the bar- Suresh Pandey and Rajan Shetty however, are absconding, sources said.

The raid is a part of the ongoing drive against dance bars which continue to function in a clandestine manner even after being banned by the state government in August, 2005.
