Two persons die in road accident in Kolhapur

Kolhapur, Nov 11 (UNI) Two people died when they were hit by a speedy truck on Pune-Bangalore National Highway near Kaneriwadi in the outskirts of the city today.

Raosaheb Zhalag (40) and his nephew Rahul Khot (15) - both hailing from Laxmiwadi in Alate village in Hatkangle tehsil of this district - were going to a nearby sugar factory on their bullock cart loaded with sugarcane, when a truck hit them killing Zhalag instantly. However, Rahul was taken to a nearby civil hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

The two bulls were also killed in the accident.

The truck driver - identified as D Rajendra of Baneeyalee in Tamil Nadu - has been taken into custody.
