Sports administrators felicitated

Chennai, Nov 11(UNI) Tamil Nadu Olympic Association (TNOA) today honoured eight veteran sports administrators for their services to promote and raise the standard of the sports with which they have been associated for more than three decades either as an administrator or a coach, or both.

Those felicitated in the presence of Tamil Nadu Minister for Sports and Youth Welfare T P M Mohideen Khan, TNOA President Dr B Sivanthi Adityan and Secretary Youth Welfare and Sports G A Rajkumar, included G Lakhsmanan-athletics, T R Govindarajan-football, S Ramachandran- volleyball, B Bangaru Babu-carrom, T V Gnanavelu-acquatics, Hiten Kumar Joshi-tennis, A Panaiappan-kabaddi and S Kothandaraman- volleyball.

Appreciating TNOA for felicitating the sports administrators, the minister said the government would take necessary steps for improving sports in the state.

The honour included a cash award of Rs 10,000 and a memento, which the minister presented to the administrators.
