No nominations filed for Kota by-poll

Bilaspur, Nov 11 (UNI) No nomination was filed on the second consecutive day today for the by-election to Kota assembly constituency in Bilaspur district of Chhattisgarh.

The election to Kota seat was necessitated following the death of former Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh Vidhan Sabha Speaker Rajendra Prasad Shukl.

Nominations could be filed by 1500 hrs on November 17, while scrutiny will take place on the next day. The names could be withdrawn by 1500 hrs on November 19.

Polling will take place on December 4, while counting will be done on December 7.

A total of 1,46,278 voters, including 72,331 women, will exercise their franchise for the by-poll.
