NABARD sanctions Rs 231 lakh to HP
Shimla, Nov 11 (UNI) The National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) has sanctioned a sum of Rs 2.31 crore to Himachal Pradesh for watershed development project, an official spokesman said.
The Bank has so far sanctioned a sum of Rs 1277.77 crore to the state under the Rural Infrastructure Development Fund (RIFD) since its inception, against Rs 899.75 crore disbursed to the state.
The project being implemented in five micro-watersheds of Polling, Luhardi, Badagran, Kothikohar and Dharman in Chhota Bangal area of Baijnath constituency would provide assured irrigation to 239.90 hectare of area of Kangra district, official said yesterday.
The project comprises of 24 pipe irrigation schemes, two schemes each for protection of agricultural land and collection centre, he added.
