Government quarters burnt in inferno

Imphal, Nov 11 (UNI) A fire gutted the quarters of the Khuman Lampak power sub-station here last night, police today said.

Indian Reserve Battalion troops and fire brigade personnel fought for over an hour to control the blaze but by then major damages had been made.

All documents and office furnitures in the 70-ft building were destroyed, police said adding the total damage was being assessed.

The fire could have started from the nearby power station and an inquiry was on, they added.
