Battered woman writes to President Abdul Kalam

Agra, Nov 11: Alleging torture from her husband and in-laws, a woman has written a letter to President A P J Abdul Kalam, seeking permission to end her life.

The woman, who is a resident of Arjun Nagar of the district, today told source she was married to Durgesh in July, 2003. She was constantly tortured by her husband and in-laws.

She was being served the left over of pets. Later, she also came to know that Durgesh had a second wife.

When she informed her parents, she was beaten black and blue by her husband.
