2 history sheeters killed in encounter

Farrukhabad, Nov 11 (UNI) The Special Operation Group (SOG) of district police today gunned down two members of the notorious Naresha gang and released three captives from their clutches.

Four rifles, a pistol and few cartridges were recovered from the spot.

Acting on a tip-off about the presence of some criminals, cops reached Ramganga Katri under Amritpur police station area and surrounded the spot. On being challenged, the miscreants opened fire.

In cross firing, two members of the Naresha gang were killed, while Naresha -- carrying a reward of Rs 50,000 on his head -- managed to abscond, police said.

Besides, cops rescued three captives, whom the gang had abducted some time back.

The slain criminals were yet to be identified.

A case was registered and hunt was on to nab the gang head.
