Veteran cricket commentator Ashwin Sarkar passes away
Kolkata, Nov 10 (UNI) Cricket statistician and commentator Ashwin Kumar Sarkar of All India Radio died in a city nursing home here today due to viral fever.
He was 40 and survived by his wife and son.
He fell ill while covering a champions trophy match for AIR, sources said.
Besides becoming a commentator for AIR, Mr Sarkar also used to write columns for daily Dainik Statesman.
Mr Sarkar had also written several books on Indian cricket statistics.
