Usha Martin to set up tyre bead wire project

Kolkata, Nov10(UNI) Usha Martin Ltd would set up tyre bead wire manufacturing facility of 30,000 tons per year capacity with German company Gustav Wolf's product knowhow and process technology in two phases over 3-4 years in Ranchi.

The first phase of the Tyre Bead project with 15,000 tons/year capacity would be commissioned in 18 to 24 months' time. The product would predominantly meet the growing demand of the domestic market.

The cost for the project would be Rs 40 crore, Usha Martin's joint Managing Director P Bhattacharya said.

Usha Martin and Gustav Wolf, Germany already have a Joint Venture on Wire Rope in Dubai and on Steel Cord for Belt Reinforcement in India.

The company would also enhance cord capacity to 3,600 tons/year from the current level of 2,400 tons/year. Both the products would be manufactured in the expanded facility in Ranchi.
