Indore, Nov 10 (UNI) Two suspected Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI) activists were today arrested in connection with taking part in a meeting at a local restaurant with former state SIMI head Imran Ansari recently.

''Indore SIMI head Akbar Baig and Gulrez were detained today,'' Additional Superintendent of Police Manoj Srivastava said.

A total of 11 people, including Ansari, have been arrested in the case so far.

He refused to disclose from where the duo were nabbed but hinted that more arrests could follow soon.

After Ansari was arrested here yesterday, the court sent him to police remand up to November 11.

The former state SIMI head was brought here from Khandwa for hearing in a case. Police arrested him with the permission of the court and sought police remand for interrogating him.

On November 1 also, Ansari was brought for a court hearing here from Khandwa by two constables but he gave them a slip and organised a meeting of SIMI activists at a local restaurant.

Police had registered a case against Ansari on November 1 but he was allowed to return Khandwa.

The restaurant owner was also arrested yesterday.
