Tripura Left Front condemns Saddam's death sentence

Agartala, Nov 10 (UNI) The Tripura Left Front Committee, led by the CPI(M), has strongly condemned the death sentence of former Iraqi President Saddam Hussein.

In a statement, the Left Front alleged that the Bush government had ''manipulated'' the Iraqi court which made the trial of former president a ''farce'' .

''The judgement of the court against Saddam Hussein was turned down by the Iraqi people and the peace loving people of the world,'' it said.

The Left Front would organise meetings, rallies in all the sub-divisional areas to protest the death sentence of Saddam and demanded that the US army should immediately leave Iraq, the statement added.
