Transfer becomes problem for Mizoram police
Aizawl, Nov 10: Telephone calls, chits and wives' pleadings of police personnal in Mizoram have hampered in effecting transfers and postings of police.
Addressing the 7th general assembly of the Mizoram Police Sub-ordinate Officers' Association yesterday, Additional Inspctor General Zorammawia urged the police officers not to decline transfers for an effective governance.
He said that most of cases wives and other family members of police were came up objecting the transfer outside the capital town citing different causes, which has become a serious problem for the government.
''Transfer is not only a part of job, but part of governance and that any transfer or posting should be accepted without question except in cases where health is concerned'', he said.
He stated that about 92 per cent of the department's budget is utilised for salaries and pays while only eight percent can be kept aside other expenses for about 9,900 personnel in the police force.
