Three North Coastal districts geared up under low pressure: Admn

Visakhapatnam, Nov 10 (UNI) The administrations of three North Coastal districts Vizianagaram, Srikakulam and Visakhapatnam have been geared up to meet any eventuality in view of the heavy rains under the influence of the low pressure that persists over the West Central Bay of Bengal.

Official sources said here today, control rooms were set up in the district collectorates to keep in touch with the mandal-level officials and the Revenue department was instructed to take precautionary measures.

According to the Cyclone Warning Centre, rains were likely to occur at many places over Coastal Andhra Pradesh and isolated heavy rain was likely at a few places in the next 24 hrs.

It has been raining in North Coastal districts since yesterday, however, no untoward incident has been reported, the Centre added.
