Stone-hearted, senseless elements resorting to terror acts:CM
Srinagar, Nov 10 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad today termed as an ''act of heinous crime against humanity'' the grenade attack on civilians during Friday prayers at Tahab in Pulwama district, saying only the ''stone-hearted and senseless elements'' could resort to such cowardly acts of bloodshed.
''Killing the innocent people and that too on Friday prayers itself speaks of the inhuman behaviour and no regard for religion by the elements behind such acts,'' he said.
Condemning the brutal act, Mr Azad said everybody was pained to hear about such acts committed against humanity.
''Indulging in such acts of killings for financial benefits was condemnable. Everyone rejects these as most inhuman and un-Islamic,'' he added.
The Chief Minister said a spontaneous reaction against such acts by the people of the state was quite visible now. ''It needs to be further strengthened so that the message is delivered loud and clear to violence mongers that acts of killings and bloodshed are most hated commodities holding no ground anywhere in the state.'' Mr Azad said a handful of elements were bent upon disturbing the peace and tranquility of the state. ''The elements were trying to put the economy in shambles and bring lot of miseries to the people...They should get a clear message that such acts would be rejected by one and all,'' he added.
The Chief Minister conveyed his sympathies to the bereaved families and prayed for the speedy recovery of the wounded.
