Speaker writes to CM after MLAs express security apprehensions

New Delhi, Nov 10 (UNI) After several legislators expressing apprehension over their security in view of the volatile situation following the resumption of the sealing drive is the capital, Assembly Speaker today wrote to the Chief Minister apprising her on their concern.

In his letter, Speaker Prem Singh told CM Dikshit that several MLAs felt insecure, in the lack of security, while visiting their constituency in odd hours.

Stating that the legislators' demands were just and their request for security, like in other states, needed consideration, the Speaker in his letter said the members of the Assembly be provided with adequate security for safeguarding their lives and properties.

Meanwhile, the BJP said the security concern was an issue for the Congress and not for them.

BJP legislator Subhash Sachdev told mediapersons that the Congress MLAs felt insecure while going out in pubnlic as they did nothing for the sealing affected. ''We have no such concerns. We are comfortable going to the people anytime.'' UNI AN SB RAI2123
