Select metal prices rose on improved industrial demand

Mumbai, Nov 10 (UNI) Select metal prices rose on improved industrial demand in line with the London Metal Exchange, traders at the Bombay Metal Exchange said today.

In ferrous section, copper utensils and brass cutting hiked by Rs 300 and Rs 200 per quintal respectively on reduced stock supply while aluminium utensils fell by Rs 100 per quintal on thin buying support.

In non-ferrous section, copper wire bars and zinc slab rose by Rs 300 each per quintal while aluminium ingots and lead ingots went up by Rs 100 and Rs 50 per quitnal respectively on increase of fresh demand.

Tin slab came down by Rs five per kg on poor demand while Nickel cathode shot up by Rs 20 per kg on lesser stock supply.

Following were the spot metal prices per quintal: Ferrous metals: Copper heavy - Rs 36,000, copper utensils - Rs 32,500, brass utensils - Rs 23,000, brass cuttings - Rs 27,200 and aluminium utensils - Rs 11,300.

Non-ferrous metals: Copper wire bars - Rs 40,800, aluminium ingots - Rs 14,100, zinc slab - Rs 24,500, lead ingots - Rs 8,150, tin slab - Rs 570 (per kg) and nickel cathode - Rs 1,850 (per kg).
