SC Judge slumps down in a function in Andaman
Port Blair, Nov 10: Supreme Court Judge Mr Justice Tarun Chatterjee today slumped down in the midst of a function here.
Mr Justice Chatterjee was addressing a gathering of students, women, judicial officers, NGOs and others at the Jawaharlal Nehru Rajkeeya Mahavidyalaya during a seminar on Legal Literacy: Issues and Challenges.
In the midst of his speech, the Judge suddenly said he was feeling hot and then complained of giddiness. Before anything could be done, he fell down on the podium.
With the incident the function came to an end abruptly.
Justice Chatterjee was shifted to Andaman's Government Hospital.
He was later released after preliminary medical assistance and he flew back to New Delhi today cutting short his other programmes, hospital sources told UNI.
He, however, did not get any serious injury though his head struck a table kept on the stage.
He was later taken to Apollo Hospital in New Delhi from where after a thorough medical check up was done on Justice Chatterjee.
