Railway Minister orders special train to clear extra rush

Chennai, Nov 10 (UNI) Union Minister of State for Railways R Velu has ordered to run several special trains including Chennai- Egmore-Madurai, Chennai Central-Bandra Terminus (Mumbai) to clear the extra rush of passengers in these sections.

A Southern Railway release today said here that the Chennai Egmore-Madurai special train would leave here at 2300 hrs tomorrow and arrive Madurai at 0845 hrs the next day.

The Nagercoil-Chennai Egmore special would leave Nagercoil at 13.30 hrs on November 12 and arrive Chennai Egmore at 04.30 hrs the next day.

The Chennai Central-Bandra Terminus (Mumbai) special would leave Chennai Central at 23.45 hrs on November 12 and arrive Bandra Terminus at 05.20 hrs on November 14.

The release said the Coimbatore-Chennai Central special would leave Coimbatore at 23.45 hrs on November 12 and arrive Chennai Central at 08.30 hrs the next day.

The Madurai-Chennai Egmore special would leave Madurai at 23.00 hrs on November 12 and arrive Chennai Egmore at 09.00 hrs the next day. The train would stop at Kodaikanal Road, Dindigul, Tiruchchirappalli, Vriddhachalam, Villupuram, Tindivanam, Chengalpattu, Tambaram and Mambalam, the relase added.

The Minister also ordered to run the following trains during the winter months of November, December 2006 and January 2007.

The Chennai Egmore-Nagercoil-(Weekly) specials would leave Chennai Egmore at 23.00 hrs on Fridays from November 17 to January 26 2007, and arrive Nagercoil at 14.00 hrs the next day.

In its return direction, the trains would leave Nagercoil at 13.30 hrs on Sundays from November 19 to January 28 2007, and arrive Chennai Egmore at 04.30 hrs the next day.

The Madurai-Chennai Egmore-(Tri-weekly) specials would leave Madurai at 23.00 hrs on Thursdays, Sundays and Tuesdays from November 14 to 19 and arrive Chennai Egmore at 09.00 hrs the next day.

In its return direction the train would leave Chennai Egmore at 23.00 hrs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from November 13 to 20 and arrive Madurai at 09.00 hrs the next day.
